The Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers was founded in 1958. Today it is the largest Wisconsin organization of individuals interested in the advancement of science education.
‘Wisconsin YES!’ student business plan contest entry deadline extended to Jan. 6, 2012
MADISON – Wisconsin YES! will be open for Wisconsin middle and high school students to submit their science, tech or other business ideas online until 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, contest organizers said Tuesday. The extension allows time for students to enter over the holiday break.

The Coleopterists Society, an international organization of professionals and hobbyists interested in the study of beetles, has established a program to recognize young people studying beetles. The Society has pledged to provide up to $300 each year for the Youth Incentive Award Program. Chem Ed is a wonderful conference designed especially with high school chem. teachers in mind. It is held biennially, in the odd-numbered years and is run entirely by volunteers, who do their best to see that presentations are timely, inspiring and informative.
Over the weekend of June 17-19 instructors from the Wilderness Awareness School in Duvall, WA will be here to run a Coyote Mentoring Workshop. This workshop runs for $275 when they put it on in WA, but with the help of a grant from the Wisconsin Environmental Education Board (WEEB) we're able to run it for $150 which includes tuition, lodging, and food!
