Climate Change Education

The Federation of Earth Science Information Partners (ESIP) is a consortium of scientific organizations that collect, interpret and develop applications for remotely sensed data. This summer the ESIP education committee is inviting regional science teachers to join us at the summer meeting in Madison Wisconsin to learn about efforts to study and steward our planet.

Inquiry-based laboratory activities for high school chemistry courses

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) is offering a three-day workshop (July 9-11) for high school teachers to meet and share best practices from their own experiences and provide a framework for introducing inquiry-based chemistry experiments into the curriculum. There will be a nominal registration fee covering the costs of all workshop materials and lunches through the three days of the workshop (anticipated registration fee, $50). Specific details will be sent no later than May 5th to those who indicate interest in the workshop.

Read the WSST Newsletter Online!

During the summer of 20111, the WSST board decided to issue a newsletter in an online-only format.  Therefore, the the current issue (Volume 53, Issue # 4) will be released as a digital issue only, and therefore will not be mailed direct to you.

If this experiment is a success, then we will look at replacing other print issues with digital delivery only.
