Benjamin E. Thompson, 1930-2011

Benjamin E. Thompson, 81, of Eau Claire, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire with his family near his side.

Ben was born in La Crosse on February 4, 1930, the son of Edwin and Ludmila (Novak) Thompson.  He pursued a lifelong teaching career spanning 50 years including all grades from kindergarten through graduate school and substituted in the Eau Claire Public Schools for 22 years.

Ben married Barbara Ann Hall on November 14, 1952, at Olivet Lutheran Church in La Crosse.

‘Wisconsin YES!’ student business plan contest
entry deadline extended to Jan. 6, 2012
 
MADISON – Wisconsin YES! will be open for Wisconsin middle and high school students to submit their science, tech or other business ideas online until 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, contest organizers said Tuesday. The extension allows time for students to enter over the holiday break.

Wisconsin Youth Entrepreneurs

Wisconsin Youth Entrepreneurs in Science, a statewide youth business plan contest modeled after the successful Governor’s Business Plan Contest, is open for online entries from Wisconsin middle- and high-school students through Dec. 5, 2011. Public, private and home-schooled students across Wisconsin are eligible to turn their science- and tech-related ideas into business plans and compete for cash and prizes for themselves and their schools.
