Visit 2010 Wisconsin Envirothon and See First-Hand the Total Environmental Education Package!

The 2010 Wisconsin Envirothon: Protection of Groundwater through Urban, Agricultural and Environmental Planning is set for Friday, April 30 at the Central Wisconsin Environmental Station!  Registration is closed for this year, but we would like you to be our guest and see what Envirothon is all about!

Are you considering starting a Wisconsin Envirothon team for 2011?  Join us at the 2010 Wisconsin Envirothon to see the competition and find out more! Wisconsin Envirothon is offering you this opportunity to see Wisconsin Envirothon in person so that you can decide first hand if Wisconsin Envirothon would fit in your curriculum or extra-curricular activities.  Registration as a guest is required to attend! Adult guests only!  Please Email the Wisconsin Land and Water Conservation Association at kirsten@wlwca.org to sign up to visit!

Give your students the total environmental education package by starting a Wisconsin Envirothon team at your school! Teams of five high-school students apiece take hands on field exams written by natural resources educators and professionals in Aquatic Ecology, Forestry, Soils and Land Use and Wildlife.  Teams also prepare an oral presentation on a rotating annual current issue (2010 is Protection of Groundwater through Urban, Agricultural and Environmental Planning and 2011 is Freshwater and Saltwater Estuaries).

The team that wins Wisconsin Envirothon receives a scholarship to attend Canon Envirothon in the summertime for a weeklong chance to test their natural resources know-how with over 55 teams from North America!  In 2010, students will travel to Fresno, California and in 2011 to Sackville, New Brunswick for a chance to win over $120,000 in scholarships and prizes.

Wisconsin Envirothon is a great compliment to your environmental science and agricultural education curriculum and can also be a fun event for your FFA, 4-H or after-school environmental clubs.  Visit Wisconsin Envirothon today and join for 2011!
