Sandy Benton, co-founder of FIELD Edventures (a WAEE organizational member) is working with Environmental Educators of North Carolina (EENC) and Western Carolina University on the development of a new online course that will address a critical gap in both state's environmental education communities by providing practical and accessible preparation for educators looking to gain skills in outdoor learning settings.
Educators are invited to help shape the content of this course. They don’t have to have outdoor teaching experience to take the survey, and if they do, use this survey reflectively to consider what would have been supportive to feel more empowered to teach in outdoor settings.
The goal of this project is to develop and pilot a comprehensive “deep dive” course on outdoor teaching and group management to support classroom teachers, young professionals in EE, and science communicators who need more outdoor teaching experience.
This survey should take fewer than 10 minutes and be completed by April 15. We appreciate you sharing your time and thoughts.
